Dr. Amy Isvik

Dr. Amy Isvik graduated from the CEREAL Lab in December 2024 after completing her dissertation research on Expanding Access to Computing Education: Investigating Computing Infused Lessons through Co-Creation, Teacher Professional Development, and Adaptation to New Contexts in the US and Rwanda under the guidance of her committee: Dr. Veronica Cateté, Dr. Tiffany Barnes, Dr. Lina Battestilli, and Dr. Laura Bottomley. Amy started her Ph.D. in Fall 2018 with a Math background from Wartburg University in Iowa. Amy’s research focused on broadening participation in computing through developing a high school computer science internship program. She extended her work through an 8-month project as a Fullbright Scholar in Rwanda. Dr. Isvik started her post-doctoral career as the K-20 Engineering Outreach Program Coordinator for the Engineering Place, an outreach branch of the College of Engineering at NC State University.
